Amino is a specialist in products and technology for IPTV, triple-play, and in-home multimedia distribution. The Amino range of compact, high functionality set-top boxes is used by leading telecoms operators and service providers worldwide.
During the period of YFM Group’s investment, a new management team led by Bob Giddy was introduced in order to commercialise what were at the time a large number of interesting ideas. Bob and his team quickly focussed on producing an award winning range of set-top-boxes that have become renowned for their low-cost and reliability. To date, the company has shipped more than one million STBs.
In mid 2004 the company had a successful floatation on the AIM with a valuation of circa £60 million. As the price strengthened, YFM Group realised its holding which equated to a return of 2.8x money.
